Music Divine was started in 2005 by Stephen Bonime, who has founded, conducted and sung in early music ensembles since 1962, inspired by the Renaissance Chorus of New York, which was founded by Harold Brown at Music & Art High School in the 1950s. We specialize in music from around 1500, but we branch out half a millenium in both directions, performing music from Gregorian plain chant to works by Arvo Pärt. We usually perform in resonant, stone acoustics of churches or Central Park. We are returning for the third time to the Winterdale Arch just inside the park at 81st Street & Central Park West.
